Two New Blooms

For me each first bloom is exciting! This year it seems like I have waited longer than ever before for some of my flowers to bloom, but better late than never!

A Shasta Daisy, which is hardy to –20, in case you were wondering: August2010 146

And a Cosmo, which survived an indiscriminate weeder: August2010 148
I am still waiting for my gladiolas, Rose of Sharon, and mums…

These are two of my favorites and I don't have any in my yard right now, so it was a pleasure to look at yours!

Your cosmos is very pretty! I didn't plant any of those this year, we have the daisies doing well (since we get to -40 here)

I have a few indiscriminate weeders, too! And a few indiscriminate mowers as well! :)

These are so pretty :) No blooms stand a chance in my yard between the chickens and the deer. I'm going to have to fence in my pretty garden stuff, too and not just my veggies.

So lovely! I love them as cut flowers, too.

My daisies are all done, but my one volunteer cosmos keeps giving- love that. Thanks for sharing, Alea, at the Garden Party!
